Arranged a trip to Spain myself early in the year this year. The breeding season is also moving forward more and more. And certainly in Spain in May you are already past the mating season and possibly eggs have hatched. It became a photo trip to Talavera de La Reina in Spain.
On the recommendation of a photographer friend, we contacted Jose David Gomez of Hides de Calera to discuss the possibilities. As early as September 2023, everything was set.
Left in mid-April for the autonomous region of Castile-La Mancha (yes, the land of Don Quixote). Not far from the town of Talavera de la Reina.
It turned out to be a great experience. Josed David Gomez is an inspired guide who, along with his brother and son, gives photographers access to beautiful locations. Everything is done with great respect for nature. Where necessary, travel to and from locations takes place in the dark. That means, for example, sometimes spending 14-15 hours in a hide and walking through wet grassland or mud in the dark to get to location.
All in all, an intense week and an amazingly beautiful experience!
